If I Should Lose My Senses

I’m not a mom, but I understand and appreciate how moms feel, as I kind of feel the same way towards my students, whom I call my “kids.” Here’s to the moms who would give up everything they have to see us happy!

This post is in response to Daily Prompt: Super Sensitive

If I should lose my senses

If I’d lose all but one

I’d like to keep my eyes, please

To watch over her till I’m gone

My nose is unimportant

I could live without my tongue

Makes no matter that flowers be fragrant

I’d rather be silent than speak ill and wrong

Now, the sound of her little voice

Would be harder to forget

This would be a pretty tough choice

And pretty soon I might regret

The feel of her small hands

Is the most painful to give up

But to watch her play in the sand

Should be more than just enough

So, if I should lose my senses

If I can only choose one,

I’d like to keep my eyes, please

To watch over her till I’m gone.
